Radio Hermandad reached Los Angeles City Councilman Gil Cedillo, formerly California senator and assemblyman and the original author of AB60, the driver's license legislation to return driving privileges to immigrants, which was ultimately signed into law by Gov. Jerry Brown on October 3, 2013. This new wrinkle is part of the on-going saga to turn back the ugly era of California when many anti-immigrant laws were passed by the California legislature to make life impossible for the growing migrant/immigrant population of the state, the majority of who were and are Mexican and Latinos.
In the second half of the show, Sergio connects with Grant Dull of ZZK Records to tape a pitch for ZZK's film project called The Nu Latin American Sound. At the tail end of the show is a seven song sampler of music performed by Chancha via Circuito, Fauna, Tremor, Animal Chuki, El Remolón, La Yegros and Frikstailers.

Hermandad Mexicana was founded in 1951 in San Diego, California by immigrant workers, and is the oldest Mexican/Latino immigrant member organization in North America. It was the first to launch campaigns to restore driver's license privileges to immigrants in 1993.
