GREEN COLLAR ECONOMY...
A friend of mine said that Jones' agent said that in the months before he got Jones' book into production, some publishers told him to stop trying to convince them to publish it because, they said, they thought that African-Americans would not read a book on green issues and that White folks would not read a book on green issues written by a person of color. (!)
Van Jones' book presents a very intelligent and how-come-nobody-thought-about-it-before approach to creating thousands if not millions of jobs while protecting our environment. "We can’t drill and burn our way out of our economic and ecological ills, but we can invent and invest our way out," says the author.Contrary to predictions, this book is selling! "The Green Collar Economy: How One Solution Can Fix Our Two Biggest Problems," in fact, is the first environmental book written by an African-American that makes the NY Times bestselling list. Go buy it would you?
