CBP DHL.[ Assault on Tucson Sector Border Patrol Agent Results in Shooting

Tucson, Ariz. – A United States Border Patrol agent was involved in a shooting incident on Friday, December 16, 2016, at approximately 8:00 p.m. The shooting occurred outside of Douglas, Arizona.
A Border Patrol agent responding to suspicious activity encountered two adult male subjects. While attempting to effect an arrest, the agent was physically assaulted and subsequently shot one of the subjects in the upper leg. The man was treated for his injury and transported to a local area hospital for further medical treatment. The agent was not injured in this incident.
The FBI, CBP's Office of Professional Responsibility, and the Cochise County Sheriff's Department are involved in the ongoing investigation.
