On Feb. 6, 2016, on the the 40th anniversary of Native American political prisoner Leonard Peltier’s arrest, a broad coalition of organizations will hold an important event in Los Angeles to demand the immediate release of Native American political prisoner, Leonard Peltier. Organizers hope to raise the consciousness about the historic and revolutionary role played by Leonard Peltier in the fight for Native peoples' self-determination and his subsequent unjust, politically motivated imprisonment.
The event will include speakers, drum, revolutionary music, performers, good food, letter writing, and raffle fundraiser, among other activities. Sponsors include: AIM-Southern California, Interfaith Communities United for Justice & Peace, ANSWER Coalition, ARA-LA, IAC, MLK Coalition, Idle No More Los Angeles, NAC SEIU, and Youth Justice Coalition.
